In the prestigious Edition d’Or, a series of books presenting the most beautiful stamp collections which have been awarded with International Large Gold or Grand Prix, a new thematic philately book was presented at IBRA 2023 in Essen (Germany). Number 69 in this series is dedicated to the Yukio Onuma Collection of Ludwig van Beethoven. After the “Sailing ships” of Jonas Hällström (Sweden) and the “Pigeons” of Lutz König (Sweden) it is now the third thematic philately exhibit that is presented as a book in the Edition d’Or.
On the website of Corinphila this book is called “the best-selling EDITION D’OR in recent years!” Shortly after the sales launch, the 1st edition was already completely sold out. A reprint is planned, but this is not yet firmly scheduled and depends on the receipt of additional orders. The publication of thematic philately collections seems to be more popular than other philatelic classes. On IBRA 2023 every commissioner, judge and exhibitor could receive a book of the Edition d’Or, only the ones still in stock, but none of the thematic philately books.
