It may sound unbelievable that Exphimo in Luxemburg still organises a thematic exhibition every year, now already more than 60 years. This may be unique in the philatelic world. Mostly they cooperate with one of the German thematic groups.
After all these years they are settled in the local community, with good contacts with the maire and also the minister of culture, who also has been maire of Mondorf-les-Bains and has been present several times on the opening. In a small country it is a small world and still easy to know each other.
In the jury of the exhibition we still find the name of Jos Wolff, one of the past FIP presidents. Also known in the thematic philately world is Willy Serres who organised Exphimo so many times (and with his nice exhibit on “The History of Paper and Printing“). But now Exphimo may count on the younger people, also good thematic exhibitors: Roger Thill (now president of the organisation, who showed here his exhibits on “Mushrooms”) and Carlo Lonien (one of the judges, who showed his exhibits on “Tobacco”, “Coffee” and “Tea”), just to name a few.
