9 classes and 9 champions in Essen

On the 7th European Championship of Thematic Philately in Essen almost 80 exhibits were shown in 8 different classes and one Champions’ Class. Here follows an overview of the winners of each class.

1. Arts and Culture (7 exhibits): Renaat Nuyts (Belgium), The silver screen (91%)

2. History and Organisations (15 exhibits): Lawrence Fisher (Israel), The Jewish Homeland (92%)

3. Man and Everyday Life (13 exhibits): Raino Heino (Finland), Weather, from observations to forecasts (93%)

4. Sports and Leisure (13 exhibits): Peter Suhadolc (Slovenia), The conquest of the unprofitable world (91%)

5. Transport and Technology (7 exhibits): John Hayward (Great Britain), The Iron Steed (90%)

6. Medicine and Science (5 exhibits): Bengt-Göran Österdahl (Sweden), The History of Chemistry (92%)

7. Animals and Plants (7 exhibits): Damian Läge (Germany), Fascinated in Feathers – how birds inspired people (98%)

8. Agriculture and Pets (6 exhibits): Ryszard Prange (Poland), Vine and wine – the gifts of gods, sun and soil (92%)

9. Champions’ Class (3 exhibits): Lesley Marley (Great Britain), A Whale’s Tale (94%)
